About

Jamie De Bonis

Jamie De Bonis is a licensed social worker and a member of the Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Concordia University and a Master’s degree in Addiction Intervention from Sherbrooke University. Her academic path enabled her to become a member of the Order of Social Workers through the voie d’équivalence.

Jamie has gained professional experience within the school system, working with students from diverse backgrounds, including international students, individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities, and those experiencing behavioural challenges. She subsequently accumulated more than six years of experience at the CISSS des Laurentides, where she worked in Youth in Difficulty programs, Youth Protection, and Adult General Mental Health Services. In addition, Jamie has supported refugees of all ages and backgrounds by assessing their needs and helping them overcome trauma. She has also facilitated group therapy sessions to support adolescents coping with depressive and anxiety-related symptoms.

Jamie works with adolescents, young adults, and parents, either individually or through a systemic approach that involves collaboration with the individual’s environment when appropriate. Jamie can collaborate with parents, schools, and community resources to strengthen the client’s support network and enhance the effectiveness of interventions. She focuses on helping her clients overcome challenges, build resilience, and improve their overall well-being. Jamie sees each person for who they truly are—not defined or limited by a diagnosis, but as a whole individual with strengths and potential.

Outside of her professional role, Jamie values physical activity and time spent in nature as essential components of well-being. A lifelong athlete with a passion for soccer, she enjoys spending time outdoors walking, hiking, running, and biking.

Known for her warm and approachable nature, Jamie creates a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals feel comfortable being themselves and truly heard.
